شارك فلسطينيون وأجانب في رحلة الربيع السنوية ، التي كان صاحب فكرتها الباحث الراحل موسى سند وتبدأ من برك سليمان في قرية ارطاس جنوب بيت لحم، الى جبل الفرديس (قلعة الهيروديوم) ، التي حولتها السلطات الاسرائيلية حديقة اثرية ، في مخالفة واضحة للقانون الدولي.
ونسق للرحلة فادي سند واشرفت عليها ليلى زعيتر فيما تولى الباحث أسامة العيسة الشرح والارشاد وتقديم المعلومات الاثرية والتاريخية عن المواقع التي تضمنتها الرحلة.
وتوقف المشاركون الذين قطعوا مسار الرحلة مشيا في عدة محطات في طريق الرحلة من بينها خربة الخوخ المهددة من قبل المستوطنين وعين ارطاس ووادي الطواحين وغيرها من مواقع تتعرض للتدمير بسبب الاستيطان والاستخدام غير المخطط له من قبل مستثمرين فلسطينيين.
قال الباحث العيسة لمراسل موقع بانيت وصحيفة بانوراما: "يمر مسار الرحلة من عدة مواقع هامة من بينها برك سليمان ، التي عملت ضمن نظام مائي معقد، طوال الفي عام ، لنقل المياه الى القدس ، وظل هذا النظام يعمل بكفاءة حتى عام 1948، عندما قسمت القدس لاول مرة في تاريخها".
واضاف: "يبدي الزوار الاجانب اهتماما بمثل هذه المسارات ، في حين نلاحظ ضعف الاهتمام او حتى عدمه من قبل المواطنين المحليين ، وامل ان يتغير ذلك في المستقبل".
